Posted OnJun 10, 2014

Wondering what’s happening around Atlanta today? Well it’s Tuesday so mostly food deals and events! Check it out.

Eating and Drinking

If you’ve never been to the Atlanta Botanical Garden‘s Edible Garden today is a good day to change that, as The Well-Seasoned Chef series will be there today at 6:30 with Tyler Williams from Woodfire Grill as he cooks food outside using fresh ingredients from the garden. It’s $115 to get in and taste a four-part menu but reservation via phone required (4/876.5859) but if today is sold out click the link and check the other chefs participating in the program, all the way through October.

Saltyard (1820 Peachtree Road) has a dinner tonight at 5pm that benefits the Friends of DeKalb Animals charity, reservations are required (4/382.8088) for your tab to go towards FODA, and their patio is dog-friendly.

Comedy

Highland Inn Ballroom (644 North Highland Ave) has the Improv Road Show tonight at 7:30, short-form improvised sketch comedy in the style of Who’s Line. $5 cover.

Reading

Famous Pub & Sports Palace (2947 N. Druid Hills) hosts Stories on the Square Decatur tonight at 7:30, an open-mic storytelling event with the theme Lost and Found. Anybody can share a story (under seven minutes) relating to the theme in any way they want, although the event is also open to those who only want to listen. Free.

Exercising

The Spindle (480 JW Dobbs) hosts A Bike Tie Affair tonight at 9pm, an opportunity for everybody to dress up in their best cycling clothes and meet other cyclists, plus an opportunity to win new cycling gear.

Aerobics on The Beltline at 6pm tonight, meeting at Historic Fourth Ward Park (680 Dallas St), you’ll probably want to register earlier during the day.

The Wrecking Bar Brewpub has Yoga on Tap tonight at 6:30, $6 cover held at the Marianna Ballroom.

Regular Tuesday Stuff:

    Food & Drink

  • Hand in Hand off of N. Highland in Virginia Highlands has $2 burgers all day. 21+ once it gets dark.
  • Takorea in Midtown has $2 takos and tecates all day every Tuesday. Takorea flawlessly fuses traditional Korean fare with Mexican inspired dishes.
  • The Wrecking Bar Brewpub has Vegetarian Tuesdays, from 4pm onwards, with a new vegetarian menu every week. I can’t wait to check this one out!
  • The Square Pub Decatur does $2 Taco Tuesdays every week and parents, bring your kiddos! They eat free!

    Food Charity

  • Both the VaHi and West Midtown Yeah! Burger locations have Feel Good Tuesdays, where 10% of the evening’s sales go to a different charity each week. Oh and did I mention that most of their ingredients are from local, organic farmers? I’ll take a bison burger to go please.
  • The Lawrence donates 10% of their proceeds each Tuesday night to a different local non-profit organization each week as Tuesday Relief.

    Dancing

  • the Sound Table on Edgewood Avenue has their Service. dance party, 21+ and no cover.
